OUR STORY

 

We are a husband-and-wife team, deeply connected to the veteran community and committed to making a difference. Tyler served 11 years on active duty in the Marine Corps, gaining firsthand insight into the challenges faced by those who serve. Our journey into this mission began with a moment that changed our lives forever.

 

One evening, we came across a Facebook post that struck a chord. A local veteran, just two months out of the service, was living out of his car. He wasn’t asking for much—just a place to shower and regain a sense of dignity. The thought of someone who had served our country now struggling to meet basic needs was both heartbreaking and unacceptable.

 

Moved by his story, we reached out to our neighbors, rallying the community to help. Together, we raised enough funds to provide him with a safe hotel stay, warm meals, and essentials to start fresh in a new apartment. What began as a simple act of compassion grew into something far greater—a realization that too many veterans face similar hardships in silence.

 

Through this experience, we witnessed how difficult it can be for veterans to navigate the bureaucratic red tape that delays access to essential services like housing, healthcare, and employment support. The system, while well-intentioned, often leaves veterans feeling frustrated, overlooked, and alone. This moment was more than just a call to action—it was the birth of a mission: to create a network of support that ensures no veteran is left behind.

 

We founded the Salute to Home Foundation with the belief that with a little help, compassion, and effort, we can empower veterans to transition from struggle to stability. Our mission is to provide not only immediate relief but also the resources, guidance, and support necessary for long-term success. We believe that every veteran deserves a chance to rebuild their lives with dignity, security, and hope.
